Saw some new designs I did made into product yesterday. There were plenty more, but just picked up some of my favorites................................................................................................
I sat up the Roosters Retail Store yesterday. ok- it's just a table at the from of the restaurant where I'm going to have some candles, jam and honey for sale. Here's what it looks like.......................................................
So I signed up for this class, taught by Heidi Swapp called capture30. I'm on day 3 now and it's great! It's like craft therapy with a little bit of life coaching thrown in there. The class doesn't tell you what to think, but helps you figure out what you think and gets your brain working about how to accomplish it. I need that. Like I said this morning- I'm driving 100 miles and hour without a map or a GPS or even a damn compass. So this is right on time for my new year. Here are a couple of projects that I've made so far....
It seems like ages since Ive posted anything here. We've been busy busy busy getting the restaurant ready. Another week and hopefully we'll be open, yikes. While I was waiting for some files to download today I decided to make and post a little craft. So here it is- a feather mobile. I'm on a big feather kick right now and these worked perfectly on the embroidery hoop since they basically weigh nothing. It has a lot of motion- I like it.
So, as the previous logo implies, my freshly graduated culinary school husband and I are in the process of opening up a restaurant. Here are some photos of the work in progress! It's exciting and exhausting all at the same time! We've done this before- but we're so much smarter than we were the first time around, it makes it even scarier. As you know, ignorance is bliss. Also- to showcase his skills and give you a hint of what sort of breakfasts we're having at Roosters, there's a photo of what he made us for breakfast today...
I went to Ikea this weekend. I bought this clothes dryer hanger thing (4.99) and some tissue paper balls(2.99). Seemed like it was fate because there are 16 hooks on the hanger and 8 balls per pack. This would be a cute, easy and cheap decoration for a baby shower or something. I made mine for no reason whatsoever. I just saw the pieces there and had to put them together (I have a tendency to do things like that)............................................................................................
You might think that because my design is so bright and whimsical, that my house would be the same. It's not. In fact my office is pretty sterile and beige. I actually took down the painting I posted a photo of the other day because it was yelling at me every time I walked past it. I couldn't even bring myself to buy orange pumpkins this year because I thought they'd be too orange in my dining room. Here are the ones I got, which I really like.
What fun! I just found some paper plate designs I did online. I think they turned out super cute- you can buy them at Shindigz.com Search for "jungle buddies" or "stargazer"
I decorated for Halloween yesterday. I have a ton of stuff from sample sale when I was working at Michaels,so I usually go pretty nuts with the Halloween decor. Here's some pictures....
